First step to be a Professional

Proper Self-identification:

Yes, it is the first and foremost move towards the achievement. Once you learn experimenting yourself, 50% of your job is done. Few handpicked people do realize the importance of self-evaluation and act accordingly. It pays off brilliantly.

Self-identification improves interpersonal and professional skills by minimizing mistakes. It makes you aware of each wrong step you take and thus nurturing a confident performer within you.

Here is a simple exercise for you. Do it at other’s ignorance but your own consciousness and responsibility.

  1. Read/study/examine yourself
  2. Evaluate your strength and weakness
  3. Make a thorough study on your basic instincts (nature/character)
  4. Foresee the scope of improvement (opportunity)
  5. Identify threats (both external and internal)
  6. Be disciplined to yourself (not to exhibit others)
  7. Identify the better sides of you and convert those into the best
  8. Determine the factors influencing your progress/ loss
  9. Try to assimilate positive aspect of others
  10. Pay at least half an hour of time daily for this exercise
  11. Judge your actions at the end of the day, look for the deviations
  12. Scrutinize your performance level and try to do little better everyday

All these stunts are really simple to implement and doesn’t necessarily need you a guide. One can do it at his/her own temperament. All what you need is to be an attentive and sensitive follower cum learner. The game is yours!

Think it as you are creating benchmark against your own deeds. It’s fun and inquisitive.

Will notify you about the further steps in my following posts.

Are you a true Professional? - It’s time to recapitulate

Just having a good profession doesn’t make - A Complete Professional. “Professionalism” the adjective considers several other qualities, which is more of art and behavioural expertise. You won’t believe there are still many people at the top management positions – still striving to acquire this skill. Yes, it is so dynamic in nature.

There is no hard and fast guidelines/routes or deadline to adopt this character. The only rule works here – Learn> practice> apply>teach>learn.

Yes, professionalism is the etiquette that you learn over the years with mistakes (both your and others). Well, I am not too expert in this domain; but, fortunate to be associated with few idols in my career. They have been exceptional in executing management skills at their work place. Even today I admire them a lot.

Here is a small lesson, I cultured and wanted to apply in need. Still long way to go, but wanted to share few pieces of it.

Do you have the hunger for it?

Well, you must be OK with your current job schedule, work pressure or salary structure. You maintain a mix of relationship with your reporting boss, and everything seems at peace, flowing smooth. Then, why the hell to break your head and crave for the hot seat. Let the years pass with no risks of change (God knows if turns negative instead of progressive).

What we are used to?

Mostly, the attitude is: I need a comfortable target, gossip-friendly working environment, adjustable Boss, average annual increment and a good-type relationship with peers, juniors and all. Who care thinking of self-improvements, influencing others, putting an extra effort to do something new?

  • I like more of being myself, listen to my heart-felt decisions and let others do their own.
  • I don’t bother being late (unless it affects my salary figure), doing wrong, criticizing someone’s good
  • I don’t care showing my skill and potential to the fullest
  • I don’t like taking challenge, doing what other don’t like
  • I don’t want others to grow better than me
  • I shy praising others. Please don’t name it “Inferiority complex”
  • I often do overtime while my peers don’t
  • I like being in a grapevine, I favour those who are good to me
  • I can’t try it by anyway; I had no information of this new assignment
  • If not today, I will check it tomorrow (Only God knows if time permits me tomorrow)
  • Why should I do it, when no one else feels interested? Am I gaining some extra?
  • I can manage my Boss! I am sure to get favour from him/her
  • I know I am wrong! Why should I confess it?
  • I know what I am good at. Why should I take your advice?
  • I need your help, but don’t feel begging it.

The list starts here….

Accept it or not on face, these are typical mentalities we do carry. Do you feel the same?

Professionalism is a character you need to imbibe and develop within yourself. It needs real passion for substantial growth.

But how do you culture and nurture this habit? Is it possible to be a perfect professional, just by learning? What advantages are there for a true professional?

However, such aspects of professionalism remain unattended here. I am sure to cover those areas on my next post.

Would expect more suggestions from you!

Practice of Thinking Positive will Make You Optimistic

Thinking positive is bit tough to maintain sometimes, because we start thinking on incidences that hardly happens. Like wise, before starting exams, students use to think about non securing cutoff marks. Positive thinking is a continuous practice to achieve success from challenging work. The following could be one of suggestive way to think positive. Try to go through this practice on regular basis and then one day you will find that you just can't stop thinking about good and well wishing objects. No more sympathy but a friendly suggestion to grow positive thinking is the motto of Career News.

Smile, smile and smile. Avoid medicine for anything and start up thinking that you are OK with any situation ahead. Smiling factor is very crucial everywhere because only a smiling face can win thousand hearts.

Physical exercise pays almost half of your attitude management. With the control flow of adrenaline, you may raise your behavior and body language which may bring positive vibration to you. Food and exercise build up control powers of your mind and body. you may look forward and start thinking about good objects only.

Never hide your aspiration, rather light it up with passion. Enjoy your life and take your life as lighter as you can for every single moment. When ever you are going to face the difficulties, make your jaws strong and spell to win and ask yourself to be succeeded. Believe that you always have the power of achieving something. No matter, you will find how strong the boundaries are, they getting loosen up easily.

Try to have feelings of thankfulness and appreciation. Start loving your assigned job and finish it with care. Outcome will be rewarded to you for your devotion and dedication. Take responsibility and manage them with care. You are the super controller of your mind. Talk to your inner-YOU. Know what does it want? You will feel better.

Always remember, your thinking will give positive vibration to others. Your expression will represent your way of thinking and that will also reflect to you behavioral aspects. People will also feel the radiation of positive energy packets. As per that you will get the feedback from others. If some one is angry, it gets easily identified due to his/ her upsets. If some one is happy, he/ she smile or let others know by his/her attitude. It's behavior science.

Setting up rules for positive thinking or suggesting what to do or what not to do may be easy to write but difficult to maintain. So instead to pointing the straight forwarded rules, one may prefer case studies. You may look around your neighborhood or any place and search who or what finds you most inspirational. A text won't change your life certainly; it can't, but try to be inspired by the objects around you. Check the attitude and positive outcomes of people. Don’t repent back for what ever you lost, go ahead and smile, you will win!

New Radar of Expression...Season Your Mind

Keeping aside my regular task these days I am deeply engrossed in a particular arena of thoughts. This is about minute but continuous urge of improving ideas. I had been gathering substances from various vertical of education right from Science, Management, Marketing, Finance and Business ethics, I gone through. It was like assimilating some fundamentals on which we grow up in our life irrespective of stream and objectives. But ultimately got to be convinced that you have little things to do with your rich educational expertise while measuring your easy skills.Sometimes basic and simple skills are not directly involved with your education or background. This can not be inherited but only be practiced and developed methodically. Quite a few times we observe and assume that skills are inborn. I am not just talking about working skills/ job expertise, intelligence, solving a difficult exam paper or excellent performance in training and development. This is purely some regular practices which tend to avoided by us unconsciously. Pretty small ideas on how to do better, when to do, how to maintain and upscale past deed and considerable changes; these all can be call of the day.

Being a human being we all have certain good things to do which we feel quite possible. It means we know how to modify ourselves, notify the need, and channel our natural thoughts and ideas. Changes are all where around us. But changing ourselves is really tough, challenging as well as rewarding. Finding better in ourselves is really thrilling. Our activities become habit whether it is good or bad and surprisingly it happens with out our conscious effort and understandings. Some times we can not realize, sometimes we feel but do not react or respond to all these required attempts. Now people may get confused how to identify the areas of improvement with in us? Who will perform the job for us? Even if we can catch hold of these what is the way out? Intentions are not to blame you or monitoring yourself or taking life too seriously. These good things should happen to you automatically with little discipline in our small works. We can consider such improvements are generalized for everybody. It may sound little light, so I will categorize it among people of different identities. This is to find out people with their important responsibility perspectives. Case by case analysis would also be a part of our discussion. Ideas can be shared successfully if people can address their issues honestly. I am not comparing anybody; but learning quality stuffs or copying them would not make you cheap rather improvised and polished. Philosophy, Psychology, Environmental Science these subjects are rich with such concepts and ideology. Practical use of those tricky advices gets rare appearances for most of us. Hence I would request each person to contribute in this blog with their personal feel and touchy experience.

Call to action should be based on post mortem reports of our daily activities. Simply consultation and open conversation, not complains or criticism to be honored. All we need is the solution of some hidden problem with in ourselves and nourishes to get it better day by day. Simple ideas do not evolve from great heart or great mind. You just need a cool and easy look to your expectation and ability.
